Newly formed peace party elects officers

The independent, proud, and prosperous Lebanon with a reborn man and rebuilt nationality are soon to be established” with these words, attorney Roger EDDE marked the first meeting in Jbeil Sunday on the newly formed Lebanese Peace Party. EDDE expressed opposition to “the state of relative justice, security islands, and hungry wolves”, EDDE was unanimously elected leader by the party’s general committee. Makerdish Boldokian and Khalil Kharma were designated as vice presidents , Rafael Sfeir was appointed secretary general, Mohammad Aql as secretary, Alain Camilleri as treasurer, and Majdi Sammouri as head of the party’s politburo, with Georges Selwan as his deputy.
